Even with patches of snow still on the mountain, it’s growing season in the village. Local kitchens are full of bamboo shoots picked wild, and carefully tended asparagus. If your neighbors don’t pass you their surplus, you’ll find the farmers’ markets flush with super-fresh produce!

The skiing season officially ended on May 6th, with plenty of snow on the top of the mountain, gorgeous flowers in the valley, and fabulous sunny days.
We'd like to thank all our guests for joining us this season, our staff for their hard work and our partners for their fantastic support. We look forward to another amazing season in 2019/20.

Golden Week

The 10-day holiday, extended to celebrate the new Reiwa era, has brought a huge wave of guests to the village. Onsens, soba restaurants, the local craft brewery, have been packed. It coincides with the local Nanohana (mustard-flower) festival just down the road. There’s good skiing at the top of the mountain and the last of the cherry blossoms in the valley. Magical!
